Artists (both groups and individuals) from any country and all artistic fields are welcome to apply for a residency at Polymer. Our interest lies in genre bending, cross-cultural exchange and interaction with the local artistic community through workshops and public dissemination. We seek artists with personal motivation to independently carry out artistic activity and engage with the cultural environment that Polymer and the city of Tallinn offer.
Polymer has combined living/studio spaces to offer artists in residence.
We have one large (30 sqm) room located on the second floor with a basic kitchen that can accommodate 1-5 people. Bathroom facilities are located down the hall.
Cost 4000eek/month (245euro)
Is a private room (15 sqm) on the third floor with nearby toilet and pleasant natural light in summer.
Cost 1500eek/month (96euro)
We provide free access to wireless internet and all bedding and linen is provided. Artists will need to cover the costs of travel, art materials and daily living expenses. We are happy to provide letters to assist you in gaining funding.
There is the possibility to offer artists fellowships which cover the cost of your rent in exchange for the presentation of a workshop, performance or exhibition. Daily living expenses, heating and electric costs (75-120 Euro per month depending on usage) will still need to be met by the artist.
AIR Application Selection
Polymerís Board of Directors will assess each application based on availability of space and resources and the likelihood of success of the proposed projects. Originality, integrity, relevancy to Polymer and personal motivation are considered in selecting AIR applicants.
